I am a Senior Editor, Head of the Science & Technology Department in Al-Ahram Newspaper, project manager of the Science Journalism Forum 2022, media trainer, science journalist for 20 years and board member of associations and organizations working in Egypt. I hold an M.Sc. degree in Science Policies for Sustainability from Sussex University, UK. My experience varies in the fields of media training, managing media conferences & workshops, creating, assessment and production of media content for newspapers and TV.
I also gave training to managers and officers in private companies on how to address the media and moderate a press conference such as OLX, Rabbit mart and Discovery Education.
I have collaborated with the several local and international Institutes and multinational Companies to create training programs for Egyptian and Arab journalists.
Among these entities that sponsored these programs the GIZ, the DAAD, the Goethe Institute and Candid Academy, Sanofi, Sandoz, Riseup Summit and Al-Ahram Regional Institute for Journalism.
I am the co-author of the “Science Journalism Manual”. a project of the Goethe Institute and supported by the German Federal Foreign Office. (Published in 3 languages English, French and Arabic- September 2021). Editor of the book: “Letters from Egypt" HIV/AIDS: Testimonials of Stigma & Discrimination" a project supported by the Ford Foundation (published in May 2011).
