Sifundo Delton Binda is a PhD student at the University of the Witwatersrand and iThemba LABS. His research focuses on experimental nuclear astrophysics. Through experimental measurements, we study nucleosynthesis reaction rates, which in turn are used in astrophysical models to model the evolution of stars and astrophysical phenomena such as supernovae. He is the recipient of the DSI-NRF scholarship 2022. He enjoys star gazing, the closest he can get to objects he studies in the lab.
