As a Director for International Cooperation of TsAGI Sofya is managing international scientific cooperation in the sphere of aviation science. Sofya is a leader of the National Contact point (NCP) ‘Aeronautics” in Russia aimed the collaboration on the margins of both European Framework Program (EU FP).  With the support of NCP Aeronautics around 150 research, educational and industrial organizations in Russia participated in over 70 international research projects in aerospace.

Sofya is promoting global research agenda in aviation science supporting the chair of IFAR (International Forum for Aviation Research) and also of BRICS and ASEAN working groups. During her time with TsAGI Sofya has strengthened scientific connections with the world leading national research centres of Europe, Asia and America. Sofya was a coordinator of international scientific events, such as IFAR Summit and bilateral seminars with DLR, ONERA, CAE, JAXA and NASA.
