I have been involved in sustainable energy practice, research and teaching since the early 1990s, especially in solar PV in East Africa. I have lived and worked in several African countries (Botswana, Tanzania and Kenya), accumulating over five years in these contexts. In recent years, I have been engaged in research and publishing on the political economy of science in Africa, and have been working with the South African DSI on transformative innovation policy.
