Dr Alice Chadwick El-Ali is Senior Research and Policy Officer at the UK Collaborative on Development Research (UKCDR). She works closely with the Executive Director and across the UKCDR team to provide additional leadership and critical oversight for UKCDR’s work supporting international development research funder coordination and best practice. Alice leads UKCDR’s work on enablers of impactful development research focusing on equitable partnerships and research capacity strengthening. Alice’s background is in social sciences, she completed a doctorate in development studies at the University of Bath exploring how the development sector interacts with ideas about employment and citizenship in Sierra Leone. Prior to this she worked for a research and innovation consultancy in the UK. Alice believes strongly in working across disciplinary and sectoral boundaries and engaging with communities to support the impact of science for development. Alice seeks to support research funders and researchers to work in partnership with communities, civil society and government stakeholders to support relevant and impactful research towards the SDGs.
