Bih H Chendi is a recent Ph.D. graduate from the University of Oslo and was affiliated with Stellenbosch University. Chendi’s research project focused on evaluating candidate host inflammatory protein and genes biomarkers for diagnosing Tuberculosis (TB) in low and high-endemic settings.

Chendi is committed to continuous learning and developing new skills and is passionate about development through academics and leadership. She served as the Ph.D. representative at the Faculty postgraduate council. She was awarded a leadership award for organising and coordinating events that encouraged interactions among Ph.D. candidates, facilitated social and academic development (capacity-building), and thereafter, served as a panelist for the Postgraduate council. In addition, she also represented the students at the Divisional management meetings to discuss student-related challenges and was involved in different task teams  (The teaching and learning Task Team and the Diversity Task Team)

Chendi is an author of some scientific publications with love for several extracurricular activities (Dancing, Cooking, Travelling, and Reading).
