Steve Crawford is an astronomer currently working as the Senior Program Executive for Scientific Data and Computing in the Chief Science Data Office of the Science Mission Directorate of NASA.  In his role, he is supporting the Open Source Science Initiative and NASA Trasnform to Open Science. 

Previously, he managed the teams at the Space Telescope Science Institute managing the calibration software for the Hubble Space Telescope and the Webb Space Telescope.  For over 10 years, he worked as the Data Manager for the Southern African Large Telescope at the South African Astronomical Observatory.  In addition, he was a founding member of the Astropy Project, a scientific editor for the AAS Journals specializing in software and machine learning, and a member of the .Astronomy brain trust.
