Wiida Fourie-Basson is an experience science writer in the Faculty of Science at Stellenbosch University, and part-time specialist lecturer in science journalism in SU's Department of Journalism. She holds an MA (Communication) (cum laude) from the University of South Africa and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Ethics (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University. Previous positions include working as a research communications practitioner for the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), lecturer in journalism and mass communication theory at the Tswhane University of Technology, and senior reporter on the agricultural beat at the national daily newspaper, Beeld. She has a keen interest in bridging the divide between the natural and social sciences, specifically in light of the challenges brought on by climate change.
