My name is Mohamadou Houmfa. I am Cameroonian-born citizen. I am permanent resident in the United States where I live since 2013. I obtained a master’s degree in International Affairs from the Catholic University of America (Washington DC) in December 2020. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a major in Journalism from the Advanced School of Mass Communication (University of Yaoundé 2, Cameroon). I currently work for the French service of the Voice of America (VOA) in Washington DC. For VOA, I write news, produce shows for radio, TV and Internet. I translate content from English to French for VOA’s French-speaking audience. Prior to that, I have been Editor-in-chief for Emergence (newspaper based in Cameroon) and La Voix (newspaper in Chad). I have traveled to several countries for professional, educational, and recreational purposes: Belgium, Canada, Cote d’Ivoire, Chad, Ethiopia, France, Haiti, South Africa, Switzerland. I speak and write French (native language) and English (Proficient).
