Zimkita Linyana is qualified as a  Science Journalist and biology teacher , she holds a Bsc in Molecular biology and professional post grad diplomas all through Rhodes University in South Africa. She has bylines in the oldest independant operational newspaper in South Africa, Grocott's Mail where she has spent 2022. Zimkita is proactive about the effective  communication of science to publics and the youth, this began when she hosted a live radio science show in the indigenous language of isiXhosa in rural South Africa through the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement Science Journalism programme in 2019. 

She has taught Science in the best private schools in Makhanda and Durban, South Africa. 

Her dream is to spend her life doing meaningful work at the interface of science and society , for social justice and sustainable development.
