Ideas and innovation fascinate both chronic creative and methodical scientist. Bianke Loedolff holds a PhD from Stellenbosch University (SU, South Africa) and has a special interest in human health and nutrition. Working as part of a research team at the Institute for Plant Biotechnology (SU), her research is driven through communication, and she regularly features on international panel discussions seeking solutions to achieve SDG#2, ending hunger and malnutrition. Further to several scientific outputs, enabling science communication to children is at the center of Bianke’s passion. As a mentor to the Future17 programme, Bianke enjoys engaging with the youth on how we think about sustainability and future-forward design principles. She is founder and CEO of BIOsupport Pty. (Ltd.), focusing on education (basic and advanced - teaching and training) in life sciences as a necessary skill and, provides consultancy to the biotech industry.
Bianke has over a decade of research experience (actively doing research and, leading teams of researchers) and is considered a veteran in the higher educational teaching space (molecular biology and biotechnology). Amongst other interesting ancillary skills, Bianke is considered a subject matter expert in the following areas: Plant Metabolism, Plant Metabolite Enhancement, Human Nutrition, Big Data, Recombinant Protein Production, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, and Animal Cell Culture.
