I am the science communicator/digital marketer for the Antarctic Legacy of South Africa (ALSA). My focus is mainly, but not only, on promoting South Africa’s involvement in the Antarctic and sub-Antarctic regions by communicating not only the science being conducted in these regions but also more about the humans behind the science. I overwintered on the sub-Antarctic Marion Island, to do the fieldwork for my Master’s degree in Botany, giving me a sound understanding regarding the humans behind the science in the Antarctic region. I am interested in new and effective ways of communicating Antarctic science, making it relevant to society.
