Vhahangwele Masindi is a bona fide citizen of the Republic of South Africa. He holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences, MSc Engineering in Civil and Environmental Engineering (Distinction), MSc in Environmental Management (Distinction), Bachelor of Environmental Management, and Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (Distinction). Currently, he is managing the Research and Development division for Magalies Water and is the Visiting Principal Research Scientist at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Academic Associate at the University of South Africa (UNISA), Academic Associate at the University of Edinburg (UK), and subject editor at Water SA journal. He is also a moderator for academic and research institutions. To date, Vhahangwele Masindi has received numerous national awards, accolades, and recognitions. Specifically, he is among the “Top 2% scientist globally according to SCI reports”, he is the recipient of the Innovation award from DSI, Emerging Researcher award from National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF), Emerging Researcher from the CSIR, Emerging Researcher from CSIR-Built Environment, Top 10 Scientist in South Africa from SAYAS, best external awards from UNISA (2021 (x2) and 2022), and finalist in numerous awards such as the Murray & Robert Emerging Researcher Award, Standard Bank rising star award, and NSTF finalist in WRC award, innovation award, and annual theme award.
