Dimpho Malebogo Matlhola is a Research Scholar in Development Economics at the Okavango Research Institute, University of Botswana. She started working at the institute in 2014 as a staff development fellow. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Natural Resource Management from the University of Botswana.  Ms Matlhola is currently pursuing PhD in Physical Geography.  She has published five journal articles and one book chapter. She has supervised undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has participated in the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) African assessment as a fellow from 2015 to 2018. Ms Matlhola has served as a peer reviewer. Her research interests include natural resources management, ecosystem services and their valuation, tourism, telecoupling, international trade and sustainable development, among others
