I have an MSc in Zoology from Rhodes University and work as a research manager for the national Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment. My responsibilities include provision of administrative and facilities support for research programs: management of research facilities including research gear stores, laboratories and research infrastructure; management of research processes leading to determination of total allowable catches for wild marine fisheries resources. I manage a budget of about R100 million per annum.  I am passionate about development of human communities in harmony with the natural environment as well as achievement of this through participatory engagement of relevant stakeholders.
