Dr Gift Mehlana obtained his PhD at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. He is an ARISE fellow at  Midlands State University in Zimbabwe. His research focus on utilisation of carbon dioxide to produce energy materials which are vital for the modern community. Dr Mehlana is the Secretary of  the African Crystallographic Association and President of the Zimbabwe Chemical Society.
