Dr Modiba is a senior researcher at CSIR, Manufacturing. She obtained her PhD Titled: “Computational Modelling Studies of Ti50Pt50-xMx (M: Co, Ni, Pd, Ir) Shape Memory Alloys” at the University of Limpopo. Her current research focuses on the alloy development of materials using computing techniques and works closely with the experimentalist. She presented her work at both local and international conferences and published several papers. She mentors and supervises honours, masters and PhD students in collaboration with Universities. Dr Modiba has been actively involved in organisations that supports and encourages women in STEM. She is also a member of South African Institute of Physics (SAIP) and the previous chairperson of Women in Physics in South Africa (WiPiSA).
