Dr Bernice Monchusi is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Limpopo. Her interest is in Biomedical research. She specialize in breast cancer research. Her research focus on cancer biology, drug discovery, cancer metastasis, drug resistance, medicinal plants, enzymology, molecular phylogenetics, and functional genomics. Currently she utilize medical plants to investigate the bioactive compounds found in these plants on breast cancer metastasi. She obtained her PhD in 2018 from the University of the Witwatersrand at the age of 26. She holds many awards and scholarship including the best postgraduate award by the GDARD Innovation Hub, NRF Scarce skills PhD scholarship and the NRF innovation Masters Scholarship. She is currently funded by the SAMRC under the Research and Capacity Development framework. Her work has been published in high ranking international journals. She has presented at both local and international conferences. She has supervised and co-supervised PhD, Masters and Honours students.
