Dr Shaheen Motala-Timol is a quality assurance practitioner, and regulator at the Higher Education Commission, Mauritius, where she is currently heading the Regulatory Affairs and Accreditation Division. She is also an independent higher education consultant for government agencies and serves as an external quality assurance specialist for international accreditation agencies.

She is an alumna of the Global Young Academy, a Hubert H Humphrey Fellow 2016-2017, and a steering committee member of INGSA-Africa Regional Chapter.
