Dr Cynthia Motsi is currently the Senior Manager: Intellectual Property Management & Commercialisation at the Agricultural Research Council and has over 10 years’ experience in the IP management and commercialisation value chain, during which she has been a key strategic, functional and operational decision maker. Her role is to ensure that IP is protected from idea generation to commercial products and services. She supports all 10 ARC campuses by developing and implementing strategies for the management of IP and commercialisation of the ARC’s research and development outputs which includes amongst others, assessment of novelty and market access of the potential IP, compliance with relevant legislation on research agreements and also the negotiation of commercialisation agreements. She hold PhD in Botany specialising in Molecular Systematic from University of Johannesburg, LLB, EMBA student.
