Dr Gugu Msane is a Senior Science Officer in the department of Research, Science, Technology and Innovation (RSTI) under the auspices of the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology. RSTI is committed to formulating STI Policies, communicating and coordinating STI programmes in the country. Currently I am leading the development of the Indigenous Knowledge Sytems (IKS) Policy in the country. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from Rhodes University. Her research interest is focus on design, fabrication and optimisation of solar cells. Gugu is also a member of the National Steering Committee for the UNDP Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme.
