Dr. Linda Mtwisha is the Executive Director of Research for the University of Cape Town (UCT) since October 2020.

She has over fifteen years of experience in the research sector. She has extensive experience in research management, research capacity development, and support, as a senior scientist at the CSIR of South Africa, a Director & acting Executive Director at the National Research Foundation, and a Senior Director of the Strategic Initiatives and Administration Division at the University of Johannesburg before joining UCT.

She completed her doctoral studies (Biochemistry) in proteomics from UCT and also holds a Master's degree in Business Leadership. Her passion lies in human capacity development, enabling young people to reach their full potential.

She served as a member of the Academic Board of WorldsView Academy, a private company focused on the continuous professional development of Organisation Development (OD) and Human Resources practitioners, developing cutting-edge OD software and innovative consulting services. She was Chairperson and later board member of the Youth Development Institute of South Africa.
