Sarudzai Muyambo holds a BSc Honours in Biological Sciences, MSc in Biotechnology, Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA), Forensic DNA Analyst certificate and is finalizing her PhD in Pharmacogenomics. Her PhD study is a collaboration between University of Zimbabwe Clinical Pharmacology department, University of Cape Town, Human Genetics Division and Bindura University of Science Education. Sarudzai joined the University of Zimbabwe as a Microbiology, Genetics and Biotechnology lecturer in August 2022 after serving Bindura University of Science Education in that capacity for 15 years. Sarudzai has published 2 articles in high impact factor journals and is lead author of 3 Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) BSc. Modules namely Biotechnology, Molecular Genetics and Biological Sciences Techniques.
Sarudzai has recently been elected to be the National Chair for Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) Zimbabwe Chapter after serving as national events coordinator since inception of the organization in November 2018. She has been instrumental in planning, coordinating and smooth running of all the chapter events. Sarudzai is also a team member responsible for events planning and coordination for the AFRIESEARCHI Zimbabwe Gender in STEMM project. OWSD Zimbabwe is collaborating with AFRIESEARCHI in this project. Sarudzai is a former junior member of parliament for Makoni East; former Junior Governor and Resident Minister for Manicaland province in Zimbabwe and former UNESCO child representative for Manicaland.
