Gugulethu is a Mtubatuba born lady, who grew up in the family of 5 being the eldest. She went to Nomathiya high school where the love of Science began. She did her tertiary education at Mangosuthu University of Technology graduated in her diploma in chemical engineering field. She worked in various paint companies where she completed her experiential trading for her diploma.

Gugulethu Ngcobos first project was the development of water purification tablet, the project Funder was the Technology Innovation Agency. She was later contracted by the Mangosuthu University of Technology-Technology Station in Chemicals which is a programme funded by the Technology Innovation Agency, under its technology Stations programme.

With the Technology Station in Chemicals she was able to peesue her carrier by graduating in B-tech :Chemical Engineering. And she is now doing Masters in chemical angineering with the Durban University of Technology.

Gugu is working as a Technologist and her area of work involved varies streams,namely: working with SMMEs ID product development and training on detergents and cosmetics. Product and process improvement on chemical related products. She has been involved in a number of project relating to water purification, waste management and waste to energy literature surveys.
