Ayanda Noma: currently the Director for Innovation and Technology Transfer at Unisa, responsible for technology transfer and innovation support and promotion activities within Unisa.  His qualifications include MSc (Chemistry) from Fort Hare University, MBA from UCT and LLB from UNISA.  He has received training extensive training in IP, Innovation and technology transfer in the UK, Sweden, SA including the Licensing Academy offered by the University of California, Davis.  In 2018, he, together with other colleagues in South Africa, was seconded to the technology transfer office of the University of Oxford in the UK, to learn about technology transfer.  In 2009 and 2010, he attended specialized training programmes in intellectual property at Malmo and at the Patent and Registration Office in Sweden.  Since then, he has established linkages and spent time in various technology transfer offices in other parts of the world including the SATT-Paris Saclay, IDF-Inova, University of Sao Paulo, University of California-San Diego, and the University of Pittsburg.  

He has been involved in the SARIMA activities and recently as a committee member since 2016.  He is the previous Vice President for Innovation and Technology Transfer responsible for driving innovation and technology transfer activities within the region.  He has been involved in mentoring and training activities on innovation and technology transfer in the region.  His experience spans a range of activities from innovation and technology transfer, research assessment and funding, monitoring and evaluation, as well as science policy analysis and formulation.
