Mrs Linda Dyorisse Nyamen is an Associate Professor at the University of Yaoundé 1, Cameroon. She obtained her PhD degree in 2013 in Coordination Chemistry/Material Science. Her research work deals with the synthesis of coordination compounds and their use as single source precursors for the preparation of metal chalcogenide nanomaterials for potential applications as photocatalysts and antimicrobials for wastewater treatment, and in photovoltaic. She is member of several learning societies among which the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). Since 2019, she is acting as the vice-president of the OWSD Cameroon National Chapter, which is involved in promoting and enhancing female participation in STEM and scientific leadership, adressing gender issue in STEM at the national level. She obtained several grants and fellowships (Royal society-DFID grant, OWSD Early Career Women scientists Grant, TWAS-DFG Postgraduate Fellowship). She attented many international and national conferences, seminars and workshops. She has co-authored several articles and is also involved in mentorship programmes.
