Dr Daniel Nyanganyura is a professional and Atmospheric Physicist who has vast experience in Africa working with different stakeholders that include governments, inter-governmental bodies, the science community, and civil society organisations. He has a vested interest in activities that seek to promote science for development, build inter-disciplinary and transboundary research capacity and science networks as well as bridge and foster the science-policy interface. Holds a PhD in Atmospheric Physics, an MSc in Agricultural Meteorology, and a BSc 4th Year Honours in Physics from the University of Zimbabwe; and a Licentiate Degree in Education in the Specialty of Physics and Astronomy from Pedagogical University Enrique José Varona, Havana, Cuba.
He is the current Executive Director of the African Science, Technology and Policy Institute. He worked as Regional Director for the International Science Council Regional Office for Africa, Programme Specialist for Physics, Mathematics, and Engineering Sciences at the International Council for Science Regional Office for Africa; an air pollution researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz, Germany; a Physics lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe; an Advanced Level Physics and Computer Science Teacher.
