Joy Olayiwola is an Assistant Chief Scientific Officer with the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Nigeria's renowned space agency as a Data Scientist with intermediate skills in Python. She holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the African University of Science and Technology, Abuja, Nigeria

As a budding, amateur astronomer, she is a member of the Women in Aerospace Nigeria(WIAN), Astronomy Without Borders (AWB) and a citizen scientist that participates in asteroid search campaigns under Pan African Citizen Scientists (PACS) for IASC (International Astronomical Search Collaboration). On one of the campaigns in September 2021, Joy made a provisional asteroid discovery (along with her search partner), making her the first Nigerian female to discover an asteroid.

I have a passion for mentoring young people, especially in STEM. To satisfy this zeal and give back to community, i volunteer with CORE Devini (an NGO with an initiative to bridge the educational gap in the curriculum of pupils in public schools in Nigeria.
