Linda Maud Palm is a Senior Research Scientist at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission and a lecturer at the School of Nuclear & Allied Sciences. Linda’s area of specialty is in Environmental toxicology and its impacts.
Linda has been involved with the UNEP-GEF in monitoring atmospheric persistent organic pollutants listed under the Stockholm Convention. She has worked on an International Expert mission for UNIDO on “pesticide-contaminated site assessment” in Sao-Tome and Principe. Linda has also been working on identification and quantification of harmful marine algae in water and shellfishes from Ghana’s coastal waters in the context of climate change. Additionally, Linda has led a project team to pilot test plastic waste fishing nets collection scheme in a fishing community in Ghana. Currently, Linda is working on analyzing policies related to plastics waste management in Ghana.
Dr. Palm is a Queen Elizabeth II Advance Scholar and an Associate of the Organization for the prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
She is involved in educational outreach programmes to Senior High Schools, enlightening students on various application of Science and technology with emphasis on the female gender involvement in the sciences.
