I'm Kunene Tholakele from Mangosuthu University of Technology in Umlazi Township in South of Durban. I'm in the Department of Community Extension lecturing Human Ecology.

I completed matric at Vukuzakhe High School at Umlazi in 1980. I worked at Inkonjeni Hospital at Mahlabatini as an administration clerk serving as a revenue officer from 1981 to 1986. I went to Indumiso Colleague of Education from 1986 to 1988 where I obtained Secondary Teacher's diploma specializing  in Home Economics. 

I taught at the following schools:

Ifilidi Secondary School, former Glencoe Secondary School.

I went to University of Zululand in Empangeni from 1993 to 1996. I studied Home Economics specializing in Food & Nutrition, Needlework & Clothing and Development Studies. I went back to teaching where I taught at KwaZwide Secondary School in Nongoma then proceded to Brackenhem Secondary School. I served in temporal positions at the following institutions: Department of Health at Ulundi Head Offices, Benedictine Hospital in Nongoma, University of Zululand as a researcher assistant in Consumer Studies and at Owen Sithole Agricultural College as a laboratory assistant. I proceded to Mangosuthu University of Technology from 2009 till then
