Dr Leonie Schoelen is a higher education expert with a focus on the African continent. 

Following a PhD in Sociology and Education Sciences, since early 2021, she has been a PostDoc fellow researching higher education internationalisation policies and practices at the Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships Office, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, South Africa. She continues to work on freelance consultancy projects, among others, supporting the Pan-African University (PAU) by advising on quality assurance implementation. She is a member of numerous academic societies in higher education internationalization such as South African-based IEASA or ANIE and publishes regularly on topics pertaining to digitization strategies and effects.
