Parliamentary Researcher based in the Research Unit of the Parliament of South Africa. Serving the Portfolio Committee on Public Works and Infrastructure by providing non-partisan, independent sector specific research for the Portfolio Committee in different areas. The research provides support for Portfolio Committee's oversight over the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure, as well as the different Entities reporting to it. The oversight includes: reviewing and processing of legislation; public participation; budgets and Annual Reports;  reviewing  progress on job creation and poverty alleviation through the Department's coordination of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP); the implementation of Public Works specific aspects of the State of the Nation Address; progress in the construction industry as well as the Built Environment Professions, for example.
