Leslie Swartz is a clinical psychologist and professor of psychology at Stellenbosch University. He has a PhD in psychology from the University of Cape Town and a PhD in English from Stellenbosch University. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the South African Journal of Science and Scandinavian Journal of Disability, was founding editor-in-chief of the African Journal of Disability and serves as an associate editor for a number of international journals. He publishes widely on disability and mental health, with an emphasis on sub-Saharan Africa, and holds an NRF A-rating. He has an ongoing interest in research capacity development and has run writing training courses in South Africa and further afield in Africa.
