I am a biologist and chemist very passionate about research, innovation, quality and project management. I'm currently involved in the High Throughput Screening platform at CSIR, a research infrastructure facilitating chemical biological scientific research in varied disease areas. I'm interested and curious about many realms of science, but mainly about molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, biomarkers, next generation sequencing, automation and molecular epidemiology, I have a demonstrated history of working in research, industry and pathology laboratories, higher education and academia. I consider myself a Global citizen. Skilled in Cell culture, Genomics, Phenotyping, Genotyping, DNA Sequencing, NGS, Allele scoring, Recombinant DNA Technologies, Protein Expression and characterization, Cloning, Quality Control assays, Drug screening, Research Design, Sessional Lecturing, and Research Reviews. Post-Doctoral research experience with the University of Cape Town and the North West University, South Africa. Keen interest in Cancer drug screening for personalized medicine approaches, SARS-CoV-2 Molecular epidemiology, Drug repurposing, Clinical trials. TApplied biology is where I want to be active. My overarching goal is to use my skills to make a contribution impacting lives positively!
