I hold a Bsc. in Botany and Microbiology from the University of Dar es Salaam and Msc in Biology from the University of Oslo. Employed by the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology since 2007 with the role of coordinating, promoting Science, Technology and Innovation (STI). Working with Commission for 15 years I have gained knowledge and experience in the following areas which are also my areas of interest:

  • Management of research calls which includes design research calls, screen, review, undertake due diligence, award of research grants; monitoring and evaluation of research projects and preparation of different reports;
  • Proposal writing, resource mobilization skills and fund raising for research and innovation support
  • Setting national research priorities which involve multistakeholders to identify research priotities;
  • Development of national research frameworks and tools some of the tools coordinated includes National Research Integrity, research and innovation grants manual, research chair framework, research resources mobilization policy and national gender framework and policy;
  • Coordinating and managing of donor funded research programmes such as: Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), International Development Research Centre of Canada (IDRC), National Research Foundation of South Africa (NRF) and UNESCO;
  • Collaborate and network with multi stakeholders within the country, regional and international;
  • I’m currently a coordinator of SGCI responsible for coordinating SGCs activities in Tanzania and representing the country on SGCs activities by providing research linkage between partners, sharing research opportunities to Tanzania from other SGCs worldwide.
