I am a 31-year-old conservationist that was born and bred in the Greater Kruger area. I completed my nature conservation diploma in 2010 with Tshwane University of Technology. I am very passionate about environmental education, community development, youth empowerment and believe in sustainable & responsible resource use.

I am currently employed at the Kruger 2 Canyons Biosphere Region as an Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) project manager where I manage the environmental monitors' programme that is placed in 92 communities, hosted by 42 project partners in the Greater Kruger landscape under the following activities: environmental education at schools and households, cleaning campaigns, river monitoring, Human-Wildlife Conflict and animal rehabilitation amongst other things. I own a community-based project called Octopus Horse riding and animal farm that seeks to close the gap between communities and protected areas by bringing the animals to the people and having fun while learning.

I am a South African representative at the Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN), coordinator for the South African Youth Biodiversity Network (SAYBN) chapter and the Man & Biosphere International youth forum, founder of the People & Parks youth forum South Africa, a pastor that owns a church that is being built using waste, a motivational speaker, team building facilitator. In a nutshell, Vusi is like an onion, he has many layers and adds to the taste of all meals.
