Tozamile Lally Tshabane started in the Film Industry in 1998 working for AFM Lighting Gear Rentals. He left in 2001 to work on set. He found set very exciting as he grew into the lighting department. By this time, he already had aspirations to become a Director and he knew that being on set and working more closely with Directors, he would be cultivating his craft for his future. He did a loaders course next to further his technical abilities. At that stage he entered his first directorial piece, a Public Service Announcement to the Vuka Awards and was nominated under the new comer’s category. From this his piece was awarded finance from the Department of Health and his PSA was aired for 6 months on DSTV. Determined to continue on his path of directing, Tozamile carried on freelancing in the Camera Department and in his spare time, he directed, financed, shot and produced two Short Films namely: High Jacking and Drink Responsibility. He is currently aiming to get them aired on television and will continue using them for his show reel in the hopes that he can continue Directing and thereby fulfil his ultimate dream.
