Dr. Yassaa Noureddine is the Commissioner for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Algeria, Professor at University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene and the former Director of the Centre for Renewable Energy Development. A Bureau Member of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Member of Board of Trustees of the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE), Dr. Yassaa serves in a number of national, regional and international committees on Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Environment, Climate Change and Sustainable Development. Prof. Yassaa is author and co-author of more than 70 peer-reviewed international scientific publications (h index=27, google scholar Hindex=32, I10=55), member of editorial boards of several international scientific journals and manager of national and international research projects. He has received national and international awards. In 2010, he received the first CHEMRAWN VII (Chemical Research Applied for World Needs) Prize for Atmospheric and Green Chemistry from the International Union for Pure and Applied Chemistry.
