CV
Siyabulela Fobosi holds PhD in Industrial Sociology from the University of Johannesburg. For his PhD, Siyabulela conducted research on the impact of Taxi Recapitalisation Programme (TRP) - now the Revised TRP - on precarious working conditions within the minibus taxi industry in Johannesburg. He is currently a Senior Researcher and Acting Head at UNESCO 'Oliver Tambo' Chair of Human Rights, Nelson R Mandela School of Law in the Faculty of Law at University of Fort Hare.He is a seasoned researcher and has written and published academic articles, presented research papers at national and international conferences and have actively contributed towards various newspaper articles in both local and national newspapers. He has also written Submissions to the national Department of Transport (Economic Regulation of Transport Bill, 2018); Competition Commission (Public Passenger Transport Market Inquiry, 2018 – Public Hearing); Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport (Gauteng Transport Authority Bill, 2018); and Department of Basic Education (Draft Policy for the Registration of Learners for Home Education, 2018). He has skills in strategic leadership; stakeholder management; managing finance and budget; as well as experience in people management and monitoring and evaluation.
