Prof. Reolyn Heymann (M'2009) received her B.Ing Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree (cum laude) and B.Sc Information Technology degree at the Rand Afrikaans University in 2004. She received her M.Ing Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree (cum laude) from the University of Johannesburg in 2007 and in 2016 her doctorate in digital communications, specifically coding theory.
She is currently the Director of the Centre for Collaborative Digital Networks in the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. She is the chair of the IEEE South Africa Information Theory Society and the faculty representative of the UJ IEEE-HKN honors student chapter. She is also an associate professor at the University of Johannesburg. Her research is focused on Engineering Education, Artificial Intelligence, Serious Games applied in Health and Education, Digital Communications and networking.
