Abstract
Abstract:The speaker brings in the Gender, Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity (GEDI) issues and perspectives in Southeast Asia higher education. Analysing the existing gender segregated data of higher education in Southeast Asia points out the direction that though the trend is improving but there are more to be done. GEDI in higher education must not be seen as a woman issue but rather as a insitutional and social issue. With GEDI in place, this would translated into a more efficient higher education development both in terms of governance and its operation, a better welfare for the disadvantage social groups and a more equitable society. To achieve a just society, inclusive collaboration and parternship in creating a better ecosystem for higher education development is needed.
