Mrs. Kgomotso Matjila is a Senior Policy Analyst, Science and Technology Investment, at the Department of Science and Innovation. In this role, she works on national research and development (R&D), business innovation, and Intellectual Property and technology transfer surveys, and other STI surveys, macro and micro econometric modelling, (R&D intensity), STI policy development and implementation, as well as facilitates national, SADC, Africa-wide and global stakeholder engagement on STI measurement. She has also worked on financial stability analysis of the banking sector at the South African Reserve Bank (developing stress testing models). In her role as Acting Chief Director Science and Technology Investment, she oversees the production of STI surveys, Sector R&D Planning, and she administers the R&D tax incentive to promote private sector R&D investment in South Africa.
