Anna Plater-Zyberk is the head of the Office of International Cooperation at the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS). She is responsible for recommendations on the international policy of the PAS and the coordination of bilateral and multilateral programmes. She is a secretary of the PAS Advisory Group on COVID-19. Since February 2022, she has coordinated the PAS support programmes for Ukrainian scholars, launched in solidarity with Ukraine. She conducted her research at the Metaphor Lab in Amsterdam and completed a doctorate in linguistics at the Jagiellonian University, Kraków. She is a fellow of the Young Leaders Fund run by the Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research and a Distinguished Humphrey Fellow with Executive Certification from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, 2022. Since 2019 she has been a volunteer in a Polish NGO providing educational support for refugees.
