Mandi Smallhorne is a freelance journalist living in Johannesburg, South Africa. She has been writing about health, climate change, energy and other areas of applied science such as agriculture, for over 25 years. She has done basic training for early career journalists in reporting on science, as well as training for more mature journalists in topics such as climate change and biodiversity. Training sessions and speaking engagements have taken her across the region, from Namibia to Botswana to Mozambique and beyond.
